These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of our Services. For the avoidance of doubt, any access to or use of BuiltSearch Code, whether direct or indirect, is subject to these Terms of Use.

Definitions

• Services: Refers to BuiltSearch Code, including our website, APIs, integrations, affiliated applications, and third-party platforms or services that access or use its data or functionality.
• We, Us, Our: Refers to this website BuiltSearch Code and the team behind it.
• User, You, or Your: Refers to the individual or entity accessing or using our Services.

Who are we

We are a small team of Built Industry Practitioners that happen to be software developers as well. We are passionate about making the built industry more efficient and accessible through technology. BuiltSearch Code is our way of contributing to this vision by providing a comprehensive and user-friendly platform for searching and accessing building codes and standards.

Using our Services

By using our Services, you agree to comply with these Terms of Use and any applicable laws and regulations. You also agree not to use our Services for any unlawful or prohibited purpose, including but not limited to:

• Use our services in a way that misappropriates or infringes anyone's rights.
• Modify, copy, lease or create derivative works based on our Services.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of our Services.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our Services or related systems or networks.

Intellectual Property

Content in our Services falls under the following categories:

• Public Source Material: Some content in our Services comes from official or other publicly available sources and is not owned by us. Codes and Regulations are examples. Ownership of that material remains with the relevant authority or other original rights holder.

• Licensed Content: Some content is provided to us under license from third parties. Singapore Standards are an example. They are owned by the Enterprise Singapore (ESG) Singapore Standards Council, and we provide access to them under license. We do not claim ownership of that content.

• Our Content: We own the parts of the Services that we create, including our website design, user interface, software, search features, search tools, databases, formatting, layout, summaries, metadata, and the way we organise and present information.

Even where the underlying material is publicly available, we may spend significant time and effort collecting, cleaning, converting, organising, formatting, indexing, and presenting it through our Services. You must not copy, scrape, reproduce, republish, or redistribute content from our Services in the form we present it, including our compilations, formatting, summaries, metadata, or other original presentation, unless permitted by law or with our written permission.

This does not mean we claim exclusive rights over the underlying Public Source Material itself. Anyone may obtain that material from the relevant official sources and independently collect, process, or present it themselves, provided they do not copy our original content or the way it is presented on our Services.

Payments and Subscriptions

Parts of our Services such as viewing of Singapore Standards are paid services. A subscription is required to access these paid services.

We offer a product called BuiltChat at builtchat.io. BuiltChat includes a subscription plan called BuiltChat Pro, which gives access to the full functionality of BuiltChat.

Our paid services on this website are bundled with BuiltChat Pro. This means a single BuiltChat Pro subscription includes both the paid features of BuiltChat and the paid services on this website.

For individual users, you can easily subscribe to BuiltChat Pro directly through our website. For organisations or bulk subscriptions, please contact us at support@builtsearch.com.

Cancellation. For users subscribed directly through builtchat.io, you can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.

Termination

You are free to stop using our Services at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to our Services if we believe:

• You have violated these Terms of Use
• We must do so to comply with the law or protect our rights
• we use our Services in a way that causes harm to us, our users, or others.

Discontinuation of Services

We may discontinue our Services, but if we do, we will give you reasonable advanced notice.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Singapore.

Changes to Terms of Use

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. In the event of any significant material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you either through email or through a notice on our website. Your continued use of our Services after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms of Use.

Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

Our Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that our Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components. We also do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or timeliness of any content or information provided through our Services.
